Chief of the Armed Forces

Thomas Süssli (1966) has been Chief of the Armed Forces since 1 January 2020. In this function, he is responsible for the management of the Armed Forces and heads the Defence Departmental Sector. He thus reports directly to the head of the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS), Federal Councillor Viola Amherd.

Shira Kaplan

Founder Cyverse

Shira Kaplan (1983) is the founder of Cyverse AG in Zurich. The company offers cybersecurity solutions for companies. Kaplan learned the trade as an analyst and cyber expert with the Israeli army, where she was in the Cyber Elite Team Unit 8200. She is also a graduate of Harvard University and holds an MBA from the University of St. Gallen.
